LEBANON, TENN (October 3, 2006) – With today’s release of the exclusive Songs Of The Year CD, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. ("Cracker Barrel") is proud to announce Great American Country (GAC) will produce a two-hour concert special and behind-the scenes documentary involving the Songs Of The Year concert. Taking place November 5th at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, the concert will be hosted by Trace Adkins and feature many of the artists on the Songs Of The Year CD.
GAC will premiere its Songs Of The Year documentary on November 21 at 8pm. The two-hour Songs Of The Year concert special will premiere January 27th at 9pm.
On sale now at 547 Cracker Barrel locations and online at crackerbarrel.com, the exclusive Songs Of The Year CD features today’s top country artists performing songs that earned "Song of the Year" recognition from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music or GrammyÒ awards. The following artists are featured on the CD and will perform at the Songs Of The Year concert.

As a company that appreciates the importance of preserving history, Cracker Barrel collaborated with Vector Management on the Songs Of The Year project to generate support for the Country Music Hall of FameÒ and Museum. As part of the partnership, Cracker Barrel and Vector Management have donated $125,000 to the not-for-profit Museum. The donation represents a portion of proceeds from the sale of each Songs Of The Year CD.
"The CD, the concert and the GAC broadcasts will generate new interest in these classic country songs and the Country Music Hall of FameÒ and Museum," said Simon Turner, Cracker Barrel’s chief marketing officer. "Cracker Barrel, Vector Management and GAC all believe these songs will always have a place in the history of country music."
The "Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Presents Songs Of The Year" concert is part of "Nashville Celebrates Country," a week of events and activities leading up to "The 40th Annual CMA Awards," which will be held November 6th and broadcast live on the ABC Television Network (8pm-11pm). The concert is an invitation-only performance; tickets will not be sold to this event.
