CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STOREÒ PARTICIPATES IN OPENING
OF BOUNDLESS PLAYGROUND AT FORT CAMPBELL, KY

Project improves quality of life for soldiers of the
101st Airborne Division and their families

LEBANON, Tenn. (August 4, 2006) – Officials from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. ("Cracker Barrel") this morning joined Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn and representatives from Fort Campbell, KY and Actus Lend Lease in commemorating the grand opening of the first Boundless Playground® to be located on a military installation. Cracker Barrel helped support this project with a major grant from its foundation.

The Ft. Campbell Boundless Playground serves the recreational needs of nearly 3,000 Exceptional Family Members, defined as any child or adult service family member with a physical, emotional, developmental or intellectual disorder requiring special treatment, therapy, education, training or counseling. In addition to children’s play, the playground offers a unique opportunity for returning wounded warriors to interact with their children. Despite traumatic amputations, gunshot wounds and blast injuries, many of these brave military warriors return from battle with the courage, strength and determination to overcome the challenges of life after being severely wounded. The vision of Ft. Campbell’s Boundless Playground is to remove some of the barriers these service members now face when playing with their children, and help them and their families achieve balance and wellbeing as they transition to life after severe injury. The playground also affords families with exceptional members and wounded warriors the opportunity to interact with others who have not faced these challenges.

"It’s important for soldiers returning from overseas to Fort Campbell to become fully integrated with their families and others at the base," said Cracker Barrel President and Chief Executive Officer Michael A. Woodhouse. "We see the Boundless Playground as an important part of that reentry, and also as an enhancement of the quality of life for this country’s soldiers and their families. Supporting this project is part of Cracker Barrel’s commitment to our nation’s soldiers."

The Boundless Playground features specially designed play equipment, including a rock wall, sand diggers, special swings, multi-level play ramps – all wheelchair accessible and designed for maximum parent-child interaction. It’s an opportunity for equality on the playground, among children and adults.

The Boundless Playground is part of the Village Commons Program being developed by Actus Lend Lease at Fort Campbell, KY.
