Restaurant Company Credits Employees for Delivering a Quality Experience

LEBANON, TN – (July 31, 2006) – Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. ("Cracker Barrel") has once again been voted "Best Family Dining Restaurant" in the annual Consumers’ Choice in Chains poll conducted by Restaurants & Institutions magazine. For 16 consecutive years, Cracker Barrel employees have earned this honor by providing a friendly home-away-from-home experience where guests are treated like family.

For the past 26 years, Restaurants & Institutions magazine has presented its Consumers’ Choice in Chains awards. These honors are based on results of a survey of more than 3,000 consumers and their visits to 200 of the nation’s largest restaurant chains. The results measure opinions on food quality, menu variety, value, service, atmosphere, cleanliness and reputation.

"I am very proud of our 70,000 employees, who every day in every store, deliver friendly service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They deserve all of the credit for Cracker Barrel receiving this award," said Cracker Barrel President & Chief Executive Officer Michael A Woodhouse. Woodhouse also credits Cracker Barrel employees for their commitment to continuous improvement. "Our guests tell us how ‘speed of service’ affects their dining experience," said Woodhouse. Woodhouse also believes the retail store creates a unique experience for shoppers of all ages and interests. Cracker Barrel will accept the honor tonight at the annual Choice in Chains awards banquet being held at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay Resort in California.
